The new reception and administration building at Our Lady of Walsingham Catholic Primary School in Corby, Northamptonshire, has been named after GSSArchitecture’s Senior Partner, Tom Lyons.

The newly named ‘Tom Lyons Reception Building’ provides an improved arrival at the school with a new reception, offices, meeting rooms, display areas, and a large family room.

GSSArchitecture have had a relationship with the school for over 80 years, working closely with them on all of the school buildings, including creating the original school in 1944, which was the only school to be built during World War II, followed by the Infants School building in the 1960s, before completing the campus with the new reception building.

Tom Lyons said, “It’s such an honour to have this building named after myself. As a governor of the school and architect for the Diocese Trust, I was delighted to attend the opening ceremony with the Bishop of Northampton, the Right Reverend David Oakley, and was completely surprised to find out my name is now on the wall! Thank you to everyone who has been involved in this project, and I look forward to seeing the continuing success of the school.”
