Renovations of the Waterhead Inn at Ambleside have completed. With beautiful views of Lake Windermere, the building has undergone careful refurbishments to offer a greater visitor experience.
Located within the English Lake District World Heritage Site, The Waterhead Inn has reopened its doors to guests and visitors who can now benefit from a much larger bar and restaurant, and higher quality guest accommodation with new additional bedrooms.
Working closely with The Inn Collection Group, who acquired the hotel in 2022, we have been leading the designs which have created a well-positioned future for the Inn, whilst retaining its character and keeping and reinstating its original features.
With Waterhead Pier opposite, and an easy stroll from Ambleside centre, The Waterhead Inn is ideally placed in the stunning Lake District and, with the new and improved renovations now complete, is set to attract many people.
Simon Rennison-Rae, Partner at GSS, commented, “We are pleased to get this project back open in time for the summer trading, it’s been great working and delivering another project for The Inn Collection Group who are investing heavily across the country to provide fantastic Inns, bars and restaurants for visitors. The Waterhead Inn looks fantastic, and we are sure it will be a huge success.”
This scheme is one of the several that we are currently working on for The Inn Collection Group, including ongoing renovations at other Lake District hotels, The Wateredge Inn, The Angel Inn and The Ullswater Inn. Further afield, we are also working as Architects on The Tynemouth Castle Inn, which will see the redevelopment and upgrades of the former Park Hotel in Tynemouth, set to complete later this year.
