We are pleased to be working alongside The Inn Collection Group on a collection of listed buildings which are all now commencing on site.

Working as Architects and Principal Designers on several schemes, we are leading the redevelopment plans to The Wateredge Inn and The Angel Inn, which are Grade II listed establishments located within the English Lake District World Heritage Site.

Our expertise is also being called upon at The Waterhead Inn on the northern shore of Lake Windermere, also with renovations underway.

All three sites will benefit from careful refurbishment with new bar and restaurants, improved accessibility, and higher quality guest accommodation. The Wateredge Inn and The Waterhead Inn buildings are situated on a prominent plot of land, providing guests with beautiful views of Lake Windermere.

Works will retain the character of the Inns and be sympathetic to their surroundings, providing these historic buildings with a sustainable long-term future whilst keeping and reinstating their original features.

In addition to the Lake District Inns, the Park Hotel in Tynemouth also recently started on site, with main contractors STP Construction working on the refurbishment of the much-loved, well-known hotel.

Plans for the North Tyneside property include the construction of a two-storey extension in order to add an additional 20 bedrooms at the site. Additionally, a single storey extension will house a new fish and chip takeaway, ice cream parlour and bar area, whilst the external facades, seating and landscaping will undergo comprehensive refurbishment to improve the overall appearance and experience for guests of the Inn.

We are excited to see how these much-loved buildings can enhance the communities and we look forward to visiting each one once they’ve been renovated!”

Louise Stewart, Property Director at The Inn Collection Group said, “We are delighted to be working with GSSArchitecture and bringing their expertise to the refurbishment of these much-loved Inns. They are iconic sites that we are excited to have brought into group and we are confident guests will love them once they are ready to welcome people back through their doors. It is important to us that our renovations bring our own identity but at the same time are respectful of these iconic properties’ heritage and working with GSSArchitecture will help achieve that at these Inns.”
