Due to recent successes with several high-profile projects, alongside the continued growth of the Practice nationally, we have expanded our Newcastle Studio, recently moving into larger premises in order to accommodate our growing team in the North East.

The team, based at Hoults Yard, have celebrated considerable project successes over the past twelve months, and, as a result, have relocated and expanded. This includes the multi award-winning Catalyst building for Newcastle University and, in addition, the Practice has secured multiple commissions from contractors, consultancies and developers such as North East hospitality firm, The Inn Collection Group and HyHubs, as well as for Durham, Teesside and Sunderland Universities and Sunderland City, South Tyneside and Stockton-on-Tees Borough Councils.

Speaking of the recent move, Simon Rennison-Rae, Partner and Newcastle Studio Lead, said “It’s a very exciting time for GSS, and I am thrilled to be leading the growth in this region alongside our great team that we have built, and continue to place our trust in, since our Newcastle Studio launch back in 2016.

Our involvement in key regional developments like The Catalyst, and now the £500million Campus for Ageing and Vitality on the former Newcastle General Hospital site, has grown our presence and profile in the North East immensely and we are committed to continue building on this success by helping our clients to realise and exceed their ambition and creating a supportive and open environment for our team as we do it.

A massive thanks to all our clients who continue to support us and give us such great opportunities.

GSSArchitecture, founded in the Midlands over 140 years ago, is well-established in the UK, and with our Newcastle Studio supported by our offices in Kettering, Gloucester, Harrogate, and Milton Keynes, we are able to draw on resource and share knowledge from across the whole of the UK.
