GSSArchitecture is proud to announce a series of promotions across the Practice, recognising the outstanding contributions and continued commitment of their talented team members.

Alan Stuart, Senior Architectural Technologist based at the Milton Keynes Studio and Chris Walker, Senior Architect at the Leeds Studio, have both been promoted to Associate, reflecting their significant roles in leading challenging and complex projects and their continued contribution to the strategic growth of the Practice.

Alan, who joined GSS in 2020, has built up an impressive portfolio of projects within the Milton Keynes region, and further afield. He played a crucial role in the success of the Milton Keynes Strategic Urban Extension Primary School, Health Hub and Community Centre development and is currently leading the team on the £65m Residential and District Centre Development at Blackbird Leys in Oxford. His new role of Associate will see Alan take on greater responsibility including driving forward several key objectives of our BIM/Revit Steering Group. In his spare time Alan enjoys spending time with his family and taking on home improvement projects. He is also a Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do.

Since joining the Leeds Studio in 2023, Chris has led numerous successful projects and is currently working on the refurbishment of the Grade II Listed Ramsden Building for the University of Huddersfield. His active interest in sustainability has resulted in him joining GSS’ in-house Net Zero Innovation Group, who focus their efforts on researching innovative practices and sustainable designs that promote Net Zero. Chris is also an active mentor and supporter to some junior members in the Leeds studio, helping develop them in their early careers. Outside of work, Chris is a keen cyclist and runner and has taken part in the Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon and the Manchester Marathon whilst also being an active participant in the GSS Staff Challenges.
