Members of GSS took part in our National Charity Challenge from 13th-15th September and we are proud to announce that they bagged an impressive 50 wainwrights over the 2 days, each walking over 100,000 steps in the process!
Wainwrights are the 214 English peaks that all lie within the boundary of the Lake District National Park in Cumbria, and all but one are over 1,000 feet (304.8m) in height, with routes ranging from 15km to 30km+.
With the aim of raising vital funds for Shelter, the challenge was a huge success. Well done to the team that took part – even though the weather took a turn for the worst, they powered through and have now achieved their target of raising £3,000 whilst taking in the wonderful views of the Lake District… when they could be seen through the clouds!
