Planning permission has been granted for a number of high-quality dwellings on a former brownfield site in the Nuneaton and Bedworth area. The new build energy-efficient houses will provide the area with much-needed homes in Cheveral Road, Bedworth.

Our Gloucester Quays studio have been working closely with Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council to design the 2-bed and 1-bed dwellings.

The affordable housing will help address the lack of affordable properties within Bedworth. Each property has its own parking and garden/amenity space that will be in keeping with the surrounding buildings. An array of solar panels will be located on the roofs to reduce carbon footprint to ensure the new dwellings are a sustainable addition to the area. Alongside this, the thermal insulation of the buildings, and improved air tightness, will reduce heat loss and heat gain to help stabilise the internal conditions.

Derrick Osafo, Senior Associate at GSS, said, “Supported by our in-house sustainability team, we have applied our expertise to use various approaches in this scheme to ensure it will be as sustainable and future-proof as possible. We are pleased to be working alongside Nuneaton and Bedworth Council on this important project and are looking forward to seeing it come to life in the near future.”

This is the first project that we have worked on through the Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council framework that we were appointed on last year.
