Applied Learning Centre

Widely regarded as one of Leicestershire’s flagship comprehensives, Beauchamp College is a co-educational upper school. It has a diverse mix of student culture with over 2000 students, making it one of the largest in the country. The school enjoys an excellent reputation throughout the UK and abroad.

We have been working with Beauchamp College for a number of years, helping them to achieve plans to extend the College facilities, and were appointed as Architects to provide outstanding new facilities for a range of vocational subjects for sixth form students. The main building, a former sports hall, was totally refurbished with new services and internal walls, improved glazing on the south side and a replacement roof.

The reception has a double height space and a cyber café with information points and ICT stations. The ground floor includes hair and beauty salons, a travel centre, offices and toilet facilities. On the first floor there is a large open plan ICT space, media editing facilities, classrooms, and further offices and toilet facilities. A linked, cedar-clad two-storey extension houses a dance studio and performing arts space.
