We were appointed to lead the designs for the refurbishments of Yorkshire House Research Centre for Social Science for the University of York.

The remodelling included a new reception, office spaces and meeting rooms to create an inclusive and accessible workplace that incorporates modern methods of working, including hot desking and virtual collaboration pods.

The designs included an open plan office for focused study and hotdesking, as well as open plan circulation which created a ‘street’ like appearance, enabling a sense of community and chance interactions. Booths were also incorporated which provide social soft seating and agile working. The use of earthy tones in the interior design have created a connection to the outside and promote mental wellbeing, in addition to planting and vegetation that create a welcoming atmosphere.
