Net Zero Industry Innovation Centre

We were appointed as Architect, Lead Consultant and Principal Designer to design Teesside University’s new Net Zero Industry Innovation Centre (NZIIC).

The NZIIC supports the ongoing drive for clean energy and positions Teesside firmly at the heart of the UK’s green industrial revolution, providing a focus for major investment. It also supports the University’s commitment to becoming a Net Zero Institution by 2030.

The ambitious new development brings together expert insight, resources, and partnerships to grow net zero capabilities and opportunities; placing the region at the forefront of the clean energy agenda and helping to create hundreds more clean energy jobs.

A national centre of excellence, the NZIIC draws on our expertise in both Education and Commercial sectors but also combines it with our sustainable and net zero credentials. Not only is the NZIIC an area for Net Zero development, but the building itself is classed as Net Zero and has been constructed using suitable techniques and materials to minimise the carbon footprint together with BREEAM Outstanding.
