We were appointed as Architects and Lead Consultant to develop a masterplan for the current student accommodation in Newcastle with the aim of increasing the number of bed spaces across the entire accommodation campus. This involved undertaking a comprehensive review and rationalisation of preliminary design proposals to establish a site-wide masterplan to maximise efficiencies and achieve a high-quality student village/campus.

The redevelopment will provide first-class student living in Newcastle, with modern rooms, excellent social spaces and the City's Universities within easy walking distance. The amenity spaces will include a cinema, cardio gym, wellness studio, kitchen and private dining facilities, and work is currently underway on site for the first of two new buildings - which is the latest in three phases of development.

As part of our appointment, we have also been working with iQ to push forward their wellbeing agenda and branding/marketing proposition, as well as being responsible for leading the design of amenity standards and interior design proposals across the whole site, including bedroom, colour trend predictions and spaces for interaction and support.
