We were commissioned to design a new affordable housing scheme in Winchcombe, Gloucestershire. The modular housing scheme, which is being led by Bromford Housing Group, incorporates innovative construction methods and will be the first site of its kind for Bromford.

With the entrance to the site being immediately opposite the Winchcombe Conservation Area, we have designed the proposed development to reflect and respect the character and appearance of the surrounding area. The new houses will be two storeys high and constructed in materials that are appropriate to the region. The result is a development that will successfully assimilate into its surroundings, making a positive contribution to the environment, due to the high-quality design and aesthetic.

Due to using elements of modular construction, this will reduce overall time on site, meaning less disruption to the neighbouring properties and limiting the amount of material waste produced. We have considerable experience in the delivery of projects involving modern methods of construction. For example, we have recently delivered a new build consisting entirely of Structurally Insulated Panels (SIPs), and have previously won the Green Apple Award for the Built Environment, after delivering the largest building constructed from cross-laminated timber panels in the UK at the time.

Our experience with elements of offsite construction will allow us to deliver this scheme within a shorter time frame, with reduced costs and greater energy efficiency for the housing on the site.
